In Our Words: “Geremia Design set out to marry their uniquely California perspective with upscale New York sophistication in the remodel and furnishing of this East Village garden apartment. Embracing the traditional bones of the 19th century brownstone, artisan details and feminine notes connect the shared garden space to the interior. Hand painted Chinoiserie wall paper and well scaled bespoke furnishings serve as high impact elements in the humble two bedroom apartment. The client expressed a desire for a space that supported entertaining and required little transformation between her day to day and an evening party. Carefully curated bookshelves in the living space display books on cooking and travel, but remain sparse and specific to her interests. Mirrors and and textured surfaces dual function as custom art installations in the powder room and guest suite, while also expanding and embracing the confines the architecture offered.”
