Research also plays a central role in projects. The studio’s sources and inspirations are as varied as they are original: the restraint of 1960s California minimalism, the vibrant early 20th-century interiors 
of Frances Adler Elkins, historic European furniture and the films of Wes Anderson have all found their way into projects. Lauren’s love of English and European design, which has its roots in her outward-looking New England upbringing, often plays a role, as does her love 
of literature and film.
